Wednesday Wave

Just a little Wednesday wave to you from little ol’ Goofy. No shaking hands (cough cough) – just a wave.

And while you’re at it, wave “see ya’ later” to the tax day deadline. It’s been delayed due to the ill factor!

Every dog has his day. Goofy’s is Wednesday.

The Doctor Is In

Hope everyone is staying healthy! And much love and thanks to all those healthcare professionals who have been looking out for everyone, often at the risk of their own good health!

I’m not so sure that’s where his ticker is.

Dancing Queen

A little ol’ drawing of Minnie Mouse enjoying life! Hope you all are finding the little things around to enjoy life as it is these days, too!

Polka dot dancing – quite possibly to polka music.

Top Nine 2019

At the stroke of midnight last night, 2019 ended, and 2020 has begun. In an effort to achieve 2020 vision (pun intended), one should reflect upon the past year.

Over on Instagram, they do a thing called “Top Nine” where they show the top nine posts of the year. It was interesting to me that five of the top nine of 2019 were things I posted just in the past two months. Seems that folks can’t get enough Green Eggs & Ham, and they seemed to like lots of my doodles of other people’s characters. Thankfully, they showed some love to one of my originals (dog doodles), as well as a photo of me taken by my pal Brian Joseph Ochab to promote my upcoming appearance at the first ever Bakersfield Mouse Con (a Disney fan convention happening on January 26).

Here’s hoping more fun and exciting projects come across my plate in 2020!

Happy New Year everybody!

S’long 2019!

How about a silly Goofy watercolor with which to wave goodbye to 2019?

You say goodbye, I say hello.

For me, it’s been an interesting year of professional achievements and personal loss. Looking forward to what hopefully will be a fun new year. I always look forward to seeing what new projects come across my desk. Hope you enjoy seeing them once I’m able to share them here.

One fun thing coming up is that I will be a guest at the Bakersfield, CA Mouse-Con convention on January 26th. It’s a fan run Disney convention, and I just might have this original available for sale. Come on out and say “hello” if you can. CLICK HERE for details!

Have a happy new year!

Old Love

I did this little drawing of Mickey & Minnie last month for a friend. I never seem to get tired of drawing these couple of lovebirds….er, mice. . .

You realize, these two have been dating for 91 years. No commitment. Tsk tsk.

Jack Davis Exhibit

My friend James Martin teaches at the Ringling College of Art & Design in Sarasota, Florida, where they are currently having an exhibition of work by a cartooning hero of mine, Jack Davis.

Jack Davis: Drawing American Pop Culture shows a variety of Jack’s work over a 60+ year career and will be on display until December 6. What James alerted me to, is that an illustration I did as a gift for Jack thirteen years ago happens to also be in the exhibit!

I was from the North, Jack Davis was from the South, yet we were still friends.

If I’m not mistaken, it looks like the drawing to the left of mine could be an original Mort Drucker sketch, and on the right might be a Dan Piraro. Yikes! Heavy company to be in.

Let that be a lesson to you, kids – when you do a doodle for a friend, make sure it is the best doodle you can possibly do. It just might end up in a museum!

By the way, HERE is a very complimentary review by Marty Fugate in the Herald Tribune newspaper that shows some of Jack’s work in the show. If you are in the vicinity of Sarasota, Florida, get out to see this show!!!

Pig and Bear

Just a little Pooh and Piglet enjoying a naturally nutritious breakfast on this fine Saturday.

Can anyone say “dia-bee-tus?”
